Introduction
The Configuration Database is a central registry to record topology information about all the participating sites of your e-infrastructure.
The Configuration Database also provides different rules and grouping mechanisms for filtering and managing the information associated with resources. This can include entities such as operations and resource centres, service endpoints and their downtimes, contact information and roles of staff responsible for operations at different levels.

The current planned activities include the following:

- Deprecation and removal of user’s direct certificate access to the portal
- Evaluate feasibility of deploying new failover(s) at iris.ac.uk site(s) removing the service’s dependency on the STFC network, and if feasible – move to this architecture.
- Evaluate feasibility of read/write failover using iris.ac.uk supported geographically distributed GaleraDB, and if feasible – move to this architecture.
- Addition of new features according to the EGI Infrastructure needs.
