Technology Providers (TP) that release products for UMD provide, for each product:

  • Name of the product
  • Description of the product
  • Technology Provider name
  • Contacts for technical discussions
  • Operating Systems available operating systems in UMD5 are: EL9.
  • Preferred release channels, it can be a simple repository, or AppDB or other channels
  • Documentation about the installation and configuration of the product; if no automated verification procedure is provided by the TP, a step-by-step installation and configuration guide must be provided by the TP, that the verification team can use to create the verification procedure
  • Release notes
  • Source code
  • Verification/Configuration tool is the tool used to install and configure the product; can be puppet, ansible, yaim or scripts; if nothing is available, it means that the verification has to be performed manually, which can increase the time needed to release the product
  • IPv6 ready states if the product is ready for IPv6 or dual stack (IPv6+IPv4) configuration and usage
  • Support unit If a GGUS Support Unit is already set, please provide us with the exact name of the SU. If a GGUS SU is not available, at least an email address (possibly a team mailing list) should be provided
  • Support calendar for the major releases currently supported (i.e. end of support, end of security support, release cycle description...)
  • Minimum required version: It could be the first one included in UMD5, then it should be updated when needed

CREAM-BLAHCREAM will be supported by INFN beyond the lifetime of EMI project with bug fixes and security fixes, for the entire period in which EGI and WLCG e-Infrastructures will adopt it. New functionalities requested by EGI and/or WLCG will be analysed and considered for implementation if the effort is compatible with the available resources. A major release for SL6 and CentOS7 (with added functionality for GPU/MIC support) will be available by the end of 2016.

For the time being, there aren't any plans for a new major release. If bug fixes or security vulnerabilities are discovered, they will be fixed.

ARCFrom ARC 5.3.0 (15.03u13) the openssl >= 1.1.0 rework has been implemented. There is therefore no longer support for platforms that require openssl below this.

The consequence is that from ARC 5.3.0 only EL6+, Fedora12+, Debian 7+, Ubuntu 11.10+ will be supported. In particular we will not continue support for EL5 and Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

ARC

1) No new feature development is planned or going on for ARC5 for at least half a year by now and no bug-fixing development will happen on ARC5 code base in the future except for security issues.
2) Security fixes for ARC5 will be provided till end of June 2020.
3) Production Sites already running ARC 5 will be able to get deployment and configuration troubleshooting help for their ARC 5 sites via GGUS till end June 2021. This we call "operational site support".
4) ARC5 is available in EPEL7 and will stay there. EPEL8 will only contain ARC 6.
