Main objective
Focus of the Working Group will be driving the technical evolution in the areas of Trusted Research Environment and Sensitive Data Management, scouting the technology landscape and interacting with relevant stakeholders.
Activities
To support this goal, the WG will carry out the following activities
- Perform a technology scouting to identify available technical solutions and architectures to create, improve, use, deploy or share TRE solutions or applications;
- Produce landscape report on TREs and sensitive data management;
- Deal with relevant user communities to gather requirements and recurrent use cases;
- Identify gaps in the current technologies with a focus on those from the solution providers participating in the WG;
- Assess the suitability to integrate and deploy those solutions with the EGI Federation relevant services, identifying any barriers and potential synergies;
- Discuss and plan enhancements for solution providers;
TRE WG Composition
- The initial set of identified stakeholders to accomplish the objectives of this WG are the following:
- User communities: which will have a forum to present their requirements and use cases;
- Technical providers: which can benefit of direct contacts with large communities to drive the evolution of their services
- EGI infrastructure providers: which can deploy the solutions delivered in the context of the WG.
- The WG will be also composed by the following members:
- The WG Chair
- EGI.eu Community support chair.
- EGI.eu Service owners.
- The WG chair, together with the initial member group, can evaluate the inclusion of additional members.
Duration and outcome
- The WG has a duration of one year (which can be extended)
- The WG main activity is to elaborate on the technical evolution of the EGI Federation in order to support TRE workloads and applications, fostering synergies with the relevant Federation services when possible.
- This activity will be carried out by the evaluation of the most appropriate technical solution for the relevant use cases identified by the WG, resulting in a set of technical and implementation objectives, together with a planned timescale, taking into account the available resources.
- The WG report its findings, conclusions and other recommendations twice per year
